“Leveraging the principles of innovation and the energy of entrepreneurship to unleash the power of a fully inclusive community”

Many forces are shaping our communities today increasing the need for contextual, place-based, innovative solutions that touch the hearts, minds, and lives of people who are excluded from society. The goal of SI2 is to drive research and academic leadership in design oriented, cross-disciplinary, community engaged innovation that is replicable in universities and communities across the country.

Research and Academic Leadership: Lead from an understanding, informed, and knowledgeable position.

Design Oriented: Fully inclusive design solutions include diversity and accessibility elements.

Cross-Disciplinary: Solutions derived from diverse educational backgrounds and life experiences are more successful.

Community Engaged: Individuals adopt and support solutions they have had a hand in crafting.

Innovation: Solve problems in new and creative ways.

Replicable: The social innovation process can be systematized into a replicable practice and disseminated to others.
